SPORT HEROES
Duke Kahanamoku: (1890 – 1968) was a Hawaiian athlete who is called the inventor of modern surfing. He was also on the United States Olympic team as a swimmer, and won several silver and gold medals.
Morihei Ueshiba (1883-1969) was a martial artist and founder of the Japanese martial art of Aikido.
George Herman Ruth, Jr. "Babe Ruth" (1895 - 1948) was an American professional baseball player whose career in Major League Baseball (MLB) spanned 22 seasons, from 1914 through 1935.
Johnny Weissmuller (1904-1984) was a Hungarian-born American competition swimmer and actor best known for playing Tarzan in films of the 1930s and 1940s and for having one of the best competitive swimming records of the 20th century.
Jesse Owens (1913-1980) was an American track and field athlete and four-time Olympic gold medalist in the 1936 games. He was the most successful athlete at the games and, as a Black man, was credited with "single-handedly crushing Hitler's myth of Aryan supremacy".
Joe Louis (1914-1981) nicknamed the "Brown Bomber", was an American professional boxer who competed from 1934 to 1951. He reigned as the world heavyweight champion from 1937 to 1949, and is considered to be one of the greatest heavyweights of all time.
Joe DiMaggio (1914-1999) nicknamed "Joltin' Joe" and "The Yankee Clipper", was an American Major League Baseball center fielder who played his entire 13-year career for the New York Yankees. He is perhaps best known for his 56-game hitting streak (May 15 – July 16, 1941), a record that still stands.

Pelé: He was a soccer player, played as a forward. He is widely regarded as the greatest player of all time. Pelé has also been known for connecting the phrase "The Beautiful Game" with football. According to the IFFHS, Pelé is the most successful league goal-scorer in the world, scoring 1281 goals in 1363 games, which included unofficial friendlies and tour games.
Ferenc Puskas: He was a prolific forward, he scored 84 goals in 85 international matches for Hungary, and 514 goals in 529 matches in the Hungarian and Spanish leagues.
Alfredo di Stefano: He was a footballer and coach, who has been called the best, most complete and influential footballer of all time. He was a powerful, quick, skillful, and prolific forward, with great stamina, tactical versatility, creativity, and vision, who could also play almost anywhere
Rocky Marciano: He was an American professional boxer who competed from 1947 to 1955, and held the world heavyweight title from 1952 to 1956. Known for his relentless fighting style, stamina, and an iron chin, Marciano has been ranked by many boxing historians as one of the best heavyweight boxers of all time.His knockout-to-win percentage of 87.75 remains one of the highest in heavyweight boxing history.
Sugar Ray Robinson: He was an American professional boxer. Frequently cited as the one of the greatest boxer of all time. Robinson held the world welterweight title from 1946 to 1951, and won the world middleweight title in the latter year.
Muhammad Ali: was an American professional boxer and activist. He is widely regarded as one of the most significant and celebrated sports figures of the 20th century. He set an example of racial pride for African Americans and resistance to white domination during the 1960s Civil Rights Movement. He remains the only three-time lineal heavyweight champion, having won the title in 1964, 1974 and 1978.
Bill Russell: He is a basketball player. Russell played center for the Boston Celtics of the NBA from 1956 to 1969. A five-time NBA Most Valuable Player and a twelve-time All-Star, he was the centerpiece of the Celtics dynasty, winning eleven NBA championships during his thirteen-year career.
Willie Mays: He is an American former Major League Baseball (MLB) center fielder who spent almost all of his 22-season career playing for the New York and San Francisco Giants, before finishing with the New York Mets.
Wilt Chamberlain: He was an American basketball player. He played for the Philadelphia/San Francisco Warriors, the Philadelphia 76ers, and the Los Angeles Lakers of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He played the center position and is widely considered one of the greatest and most dominant players in NBA history.[
