William Shakespeare

William Shakespeare was born on April 26, 1564 and he died on April 23, 1616. He lived in Stratford upon Avon, in Warwickshire, England.  In 1594 he was an actor in The Chamberlain’s Men acting company.

He wrote 37 plays and also 2 very long poems in his lifetime. His most famous books are tragedies and comedies. He can be considered as the most famous english writer of the world. He is often quoted in modern writing.His wife was Anne Hathaway, a woman eight years older than he was.


They had three children: Susanna, Hamlet and Judith. 150 years after Shakespeare died, some writers began to say that the work called "Shakespeare" were not really written by William Shakespeare.


One of his most famous books (Romeo and Juliet) is also one of the most famous books of the world. A lot of people think that this story is the most important love story of the world. Another famous tragedy books of him are Macbeth, Coriolanus, Julius Caesar and Hamlet.One of the most famous comedies of him are The Comedy of Errors and All's Well That Ends Well
