Auctioning a guitar

At a concert at Christmas 1963 John Lennon lost his guitar,someone stole it,it was an acoustic guitar GIBSON J-160 E, a musician from San Diego bought it in the late sixties by 275 dollars.

There where abouts of the instrument remained a mystery for more than 50 years, until John McCaw who first bought the guitar, last year became interested in a story about the private collection of other Beatle, George Harrison in a photo included guitar very similar to yours brands ,Lennon and Harrison bought two indentical guitars of the same model in Liverpool in 1962.

John Lennon used this guitar to record and write “LOVE ME DO”, “I WANT TO HOLD YOUR HAND” and other hits.

On November 8 in Beverly Hills, California was sold at auction for 2,4 million dollars for undisclosed buyer.

An expert could check that the serial number, grain and wood brands were the same as that of John Lennon.

Half the money from the wrath auction intended “SPIRIT FOUNDATION”, a charity created by Lennon and his widow Yoko Ono.

It is one of the higher prices archieved by a musical instrument used in rock and roll.
