World Book Day is a celebration! It's a celebration of authors, illustrators , books and (most importantly ) it's a celebration of reading.
On April 23 is a symbolic date for world literature because that day were born or died illustrious writers such as Miguel de Cervantes and Shakespeare. The celebration of this day as a worldwide party, was decided in 1995 by UNESCO.
This year, the World Book Capital City is the Incheon Korean. In 2001, this honor went to Madrid.
In Catalonia this World Book Day is celebrated giving away books and roses.
