St. Patrick's Day is a very special date in Ireland and especially in Dublin. For five days the Irish capital is invaded by leprechauns with large green hats, their buildings light of the same color and music bands fill the air of the streets. It is the St. Patrick's Festival.
This festival is celebrated not only in Ireland but in many places in the United States. The symbols of St. Patrick's Day are green and wild three leaf clover. Saint Patrick used the three-leaf clover wild to explain to pagans the Trinity. The feast day is March 17, although it was not until 1995 when Ireland declared this day as their national holiday.
