Where is the Black Africa?

The Black African zone is known to be a very big area with a lot of different countries.

Despite of the name, not all the people there are black...

Those countries are rich in natural resources, but war and conflicts made them quite poor.

Sport in Black Africa

Athletics are common around the world: running, jumping, throwing, and walking.

The simplicity of the competitions, and the lack of a need for expensive equipment, makes athletics one of the most commonly competed sports in the world, specially in Africa.

Over the years, Ethiopia and Kenya have produced many notable long-distance athletes.

Famous runners include Haile Gebrselassie, Kenenisa Bekele, Paul Tergat, and John Cheruiyot Korir.

Music in Black Africa

Black African music is centered in rhythm most than any other folk music. The drum is one of the most useful instrument, and there a lot of different kinds.

African music is polyrhythmic, usually consisting of multiple rhythms in one composition. Dance involves moving multiple body parts.

A djembe is a drum played with bare hands, originally from West Africa.

The mbira (also known as thumb piano) is a musical instrument that consists of a wooden board with attached staggered metal keys.

The balaphone is a wooden keyed percussion instrument. Sound is produced by striking the tuned keys with two padded sticks.
